About ALTC Standing Committees
The Board has established the following Standing Committees to oversee the Australian Learning and Teaching Council's major
Schemes and Programs:
- Priority Projects Program
- Competitive Grants Program
- Leadership for Excellence in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education Program
- ALTC Fellowship Scheme
- Learning Networks
- Awards for Australian University Teaching (AAUT)
Each Standing Committee is chaired by a Board member and includes nominees of Universities Australia.

The above Standing Committees have the following Terms of Reference:
- To provide advice to the Board on the direction, development and ongoing evaluation and of the relevant Scheme or Program
- To determine the winners of any grants or fellowships awarded as part of the Scheme or Program and to advise the Board accordingly
- To commission work, as appropriate to the advancement of the objectives of the particular Scheme or Program, and as appropriate to the Mission and Objectives of the ALTC.

The Awards for Australian University Teaching Committee has the following Terms of Reference:
- To provide advice on the ongoing evaluation and development of the citation/awards guidelines
- To determine the winners of citations and awards
- To provide advice to the Board on the impact of the national award system
- To provide advice and undertake work on developing capability around peer assessment of teaching and learning in higher education
Note: For the purpose of decisions about the Awards for Excellence in Teaching and the Awards for Programs that Enhance Learning, two students and a representative of the Indigenous Community will join the Committee.
