Project Outcome
The project aims to identify, research, review and scope the key issues facing built environment (quantity surveying, construction management, project management, property economics, spatial science, planning, civil engineering) and design (architecture, interior design, industrial design, landscape architecture) education across the sector, starting with the participating universities. This will include:
- A report describing the state of built environment and design education and identifying key areas requiring development within it.
- The report will identify projects (from the review and agenda setting described in the goals above) which advance strategic thinking about the future of learning and teaching in the built environment and design professions.
- The launch, through a workshop towards the end of the scoping phase, of a sustainable network amongst universities, professional bodies and integrated professional practice partners committed to developing and maintaining the quality of built environment and design education and its capacity to serve the future needs of the professions.
- An implementation and management plan for the network; this project will define the form of the network and its operation into the future.
Project Methodology
- Desktop research - review of international initiatives.
