Project Methodology

Trial and evaluate different approaches to individualised, just-in-time leadership development using materials and process outcomes from previous ALTC leadership grants by having academic development staff and external discipline mentors work with course coordinators scheduled for course review. Maintain detailed cost data for the implementation for approaches. Identify the need for any changes to institutional policies, systems or processes to support the approach. Identify the critical leadership qualities and skills for staff developers leading the just-in-time development through reflective practice approaches and engagement with Course Coordinators throughout the process. Evaluate the success approaches in terms of leadership development for Course Coordinator participants, staff developer leaders and cost effectiveness. Agree on best approach and further test with a group of Course Coordinators with previously developed course coordinators taking on a mentoring role. Evaluate this second implementation in terms of leadership building effectiveness, cost effectiveness and overall sustainability of the system.
