Project Outcome
This project aims to develop distributed institutional leadership capacity in pedagogical and evaluative dimensions of online learning and teaching across the University. Pedagogical dimensions are defined as those relating to principles and practices of online teaching and learning, at design and implementation stages. Evaluative dimensions refer to evaluation of online design, materials, processes, practices, outcomes and impacts.
Project Methodology
The project involves
- 5 time release for six academic staff, one per campus and in total representative of the three Faculties and a spread of disciplines, for three semesters, to enable them to:
- undergo specialised training in pedagogical and evaluative dimensions of online learning and teaching, and in leadership;
- work with Educational Designers, the Online Teaching and Learning Coordinator, Faculties, Schools and discipline networks to assess needs and prepare customised plans and strategies to address these needs;
- be involved in academic staff training and development as the plans and strategies are put into operation; and
- evaluate the processes and impacts of online teaching and learning and of the associated training and support mechanisms.
The specialised training for the six staff will be provided from both internal and external sources. On completion of the project, the six staff will be appointed to continuing online leadership roles at Faculty and University-wide levels.
