Project Outcome
The aim of this project is to develop and implement a comprehensive Leadership Program for Assistant/Associate Deans (Learning and Teaching) in the development of learning and teaching strategy, policy and curriculum development in order to improve the educational experience of students at the participating institutions.
Project Methodology
The project will take a cascading, developmental, evaluation approach encompassing linear change (increased knowledge and skills of the individual participants), system change (working with participants to change functional relationships and impact in the organisation) and emergentchange (infusing energy into the system through Associate Deans and Course Coordinators whoare enthused about their role). As there has been little work or research done in this area, the project team will work with Associate Deans (T & L) and Course Coordinators to identify their needs and negotiate a program/strategies over which they will have strong ownership (initial work has commenced on this with an informal survey of challenges and suggested solutions conducted by team members). Members of the project team will be working in very different institutional contexts and will be focusing on making the program and strategies relevant to their local contexts while having a national, global perspective.
