Project Outcome

The outcomes are two learning and teaching deliverables: 1) a CD ROM or DVD entitled Learning Strategies for English Language Growth and Academic Success for students at participating universities; 2) a major publication on Assisting Learning Strategy Development providing guidelines for academic staff; seminars and workshops at participating universities. 

Project Methodology

This project involves three phases:
  • Phase 1 involves a review of the literature on language growth and strategy use. This information will inform the development of the data collection instruments based on the Attitude/Motivation Test Battery, the Strategy Inventory of Language Learning,  and the Beliefs About Language Learning Inventory. Phase 1 will also include the development of a website.
  • Phase 2 involves data collection and data analysis. Statistical analysis of quantitative data and theme analysis of qualitative data will help to triangulate the findings and to strengthen the development of deliverables.
  • Phase 3 involves the dissemination of the findings through the learning and teaching deliverables: a CD ROM or DVD entitled Learning Strategies for English Language Growth and Academic Success for students at participating universities; and a publication on Assisting Learning Strategy Development for academic staff. Phase three will also involve seminars and workshops throughout the participating universities.
