The goal of the DBI scheme was to generate discipline-specific agendas that could be drawn upon for curriculum regeneration and productive engagement among stakeholders.
Stage 1 of the scheme, implemented during 2006-2007, involved funding initiatives undertaken by affiliations of discipline-based leaders across the higher education sector. These Discipline Studies and other investigations are now managed by the Grants Scheme.
Stage 2 involved receiving feedback from the higher education sector about the proposed infrastructure to support discipline-based development. This feedback informed the development of Learning Networks.
