Associate Professor Iouri Belski

Synopsis
Iouri Belski has been teaching electronics at RMIT since 1996. Prior to this he spent 13 years in research and development in Russia developing sensors, piezo-acoustic, microelectronics and microwave devices. Iouri’s approaches to teaching are led by his broad research and industry experiences. His teaching focuses on enhancing student thinking and problem-solving skills. Iouri has developed numerous resources and tools that are used by his students, academics, school teachers and practising engineers. He is an acknowledged expert in technical problem-solving and has consulted extensively in Australia and internationally. Iouri has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers, a book on systematic thinking and problem-solving and has been granted more than 20 patents. RMIT has honoured him with many teaching awards including the inaugural Vice-Chancellor's Distinguished Teaching Award. In 2006, Iouri was awarded a Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning.
